Every so often humankind is confronted with history that only the blind fail to see. We are living in such a time. We have become so intoxicated with our ability to manipulate reality that we have trampled what remaining common sense still existed. Why and how this has happened is not nearly as important to understand as is where it is leading.
This recently (very recently) created term is intended to “equal” the playing field with the term transgender. After all, without equality the world will fall apart…or so the Progressives would have us believe. All cisgender really means is that if you are born a female or a male and grow up to live and think as if you are that…well, you’re cisgendered. Huh? Isn’t that what “normal” meant until about two weeks ago?
If you doubt the effect of manipulating reality through language and propaganda, then check out a study previewed in The Atlantic where a 2013 study showed that most Americans think the percentage of gays in the population is 25%…when , in fact, its 2-3%. This gross misperception comes from an excess of political correctness and the media’s obsession with it.
We have reached the point where our language and our definitions are so malleable, on a moment’s notice, that we hardly know how to speak to one another or what anything means anymore.
Enter the Book of Genesis and The Tower of Babel.
As the story goes, it was a time when humankind’s ego, and its sense of indestructibility, caused it to believe it could build a tower to the heavens and rule as Gods. The heavens, looking down upon this arrogance observed and concluded the following:
4 And they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city, and a tower whose top is in the heavens; let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be scattered abroad over the face of the whole earth.”
5 But the Lord came down to see the city and the tower which the sons of men had built.
6 And the Lord said, “Indeed the people are one and they all have one language, and this is what they begin to do; now nothing that they propose to do will be withheld from them.
7 Come, let Us go down and there confuse their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech.”
8 So the Lord scattered them abroad from there over the face of all the earth, and they ceased building the city.
9 Therefore its name is called Babel, because there the Lord confused the language of all the earth; and from there the Lord scattered them abroad over the face of all the earth.
I think it time we paid attention to the history that is staring us in the face. We, in our present-day arrogance, have lost sight of our place in the cosmos and the responsibility we have to maintain a balanced approach to life. We have worshipped technology at the expense of humility. We have relinquished morality at the expense of sanity. We have shunned God in favor of temporary gain.
And so, once again, the heavens look upon us and conclude the necessity of confounding our speech yet again in order to stop the madness.
